Fabio Giovagnoli has been a judge of first instance at the Court of the Republic of San Marino since 2011. He has a broad civil litigation practice with an emphasis on insolvency. He also acted in cases concerning trusts and fiduciary agreements which are not within the jurisdiction of the Court for Trust and Fiduciary Relations of the Republic of San Marino.

He is a member of the Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE) as well as of the European Committee on Legal Co-operation (CDCJ) representing the Republic of San Marino at the Council of Europe.

He has been part of San Marino national technical delegations during periodic evaluation rounds of international bodies, such as Moneyval and the International Monetary Fund, also discussing trust and fiduciary agreements.

He has been a member of various national technical committees for regulatory reforms in the relevant sector, and was also a member in 2019 of the national technical committee for the reform of San Marino's Trust law.

He participated as a speaker in various conferences on trusts, and lectured at higher education courses, including on trusts.
